Bill Yates outlines the approach of his successful worldwide pace of play improvement program for Australia's premiere golf website I Seek Golf's popular broadcast "The Week in Golf." (Photo at left, Bill is interviewed for The Week in Golf)
Founder of Pace Manager Systems® consulting and training services, Bill has worked with courses, golf associations and championships throughout the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia to improve the game for owners and players.
"I look at pace of play differently from everyone else," says Yates. "People always ask me 'What do you do to make players play faster?' I don't actually pay much attention to the players; I work with the management teams, because it's how the course is managed day in and day out that makes the critical difference in pace of play. Once that's in place, then we can look at player behavior, identify those players who really are playing slowly and creating bottlenecks, and take the right steps to fix that."
